I was a very successful father of my 1-year-old son before a series of catastrophic events wrecked our life. My son’s mother took care of him while I worked, until she left the picture, so I had to make some drastic changes to survive. I had to quit my high paying evening job due to daycare limitations and the best job I could find that worked with daycare hours paid less than half of what I was used to. So, while my income was cut in half, I also picked up a new $1200 per month daycare bill. I really struggled hard for a solid four months, maxed credit cards and asked friends to borrow money just to put food on the table. I applied for all the help I could find and was denied across the board for making too much money (I was barely over the threshold). I was recommended CHIPZ by a friend of mine and decided to call as a last-ditch effort to get some assistance. They worked vigorously on my case and were able to get my overdue electric bill paid (my power had been off for a couple days at that point). During this time I also had a tooth that had really been hurting to the point it was difficult to work, and they were able to help me get that taken care of as well which was such a huge relief! They were the only program to get me any kind of assistance through all of this! They were very sincere and kind throughout the entire process, I could really tell they cared and wanted me and my son to succeed. Thank you again for everything!

It was such a huge blessing for the CHIPZ organization to help me and my children with their services. I was facing financial hardship at the time and CHIPZ was able to come in and help me with my rent. I will forever be grateful of them.

As a single mother of two, I faced unimaginable challenges—losing my grandmother, being abandoned by my fiancé, enduring years of financial hardship, and surviving an abusive relationship that left deep emotional scars. I did everything I could to protect and provide for my children, even when it meant going without myself.

During the pandemic, I lost my job, my stability, and eventually my home. After Hurricane Milton, I was living in my car with my dog, separated from my son, and at my lowest point—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Then, through the grace of a referral, I reconnected with Kathy from CHIPZ. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel alone. She helped me find safety, warmth, and the hope I thought I had lost. She believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.

Today, I have a safe, beautiful home. My son is back with me. I’m watching him prepare to graduate high school—something I never thought I’d get to see.

Because of Kathy and the CHIPZ program, I have my life back. And for that, I am forever grateful.

You have truly been a Godsend. After our home burned down, you stepped in with incredible kindness and love. I was amazed by how quickly you responded and deeply touched by the compassion you showed us—it will stay with me forever.
